Fandango, n – a lively couple dance from Spain, usually in triple metre, traditionally accompanied by guitars and castanets or hand-clapping (“palmas” in Spanish). It is also the name of a wine from Terravista Vineyards. Fandango, a blend of two white grape varieties, Albarino and Verdejo, is the only wine of these grapes produced in Canada! Offer lovely light golden colour. Complex, yet delicate aromas of crushed herbs mingled with scents of early summer pear, peach and melon. Freshness reigns over the palate with great balanced and texture that lasts well after every sip. Tasted, April 2015.

Albarino (Alvarinho) is a green-skinned grape variety native to Galicia on the north Atlantic coast of Spain. It is also popular in the Vinho Verde wine region of northern Portugal, where it is known as Alvarinho. An aromatic variety that is high in acidity, Albarino can be produced as a light white wine or in a fuller style, with oak or lees aging adding to the texture and richness. (source: wine-searcher)
