Moraine Pinot Noir Penticton - the wine detectiveMoraine Pinot Noir 2013, Penticton

Moraine is a family-owned winery and vineyard overlooking Okanagan Lake, located just minutes from the city of Penticton. From its shelf-like location above striking clay bluffs, Moraine peers over the landscape and water. These iconic glaciated white clay cliffs comprise the breathtaking Naramata Bench and inspire the winery’s land-formed name.
The Pinot Noir grapes were handpicked from Sophia’s vineyard, then carefully fermented in small bins for assuring of developing high fruitiness and lovely aromas of the wine. The wine was aged for 10 months in the premium French oak from the Tronçais forest. This highly sought-after and regulated wood has one of the tightest grains on the planet. This tight grain translates into a slower and delicate extraction process.
Tasting notes: The Moraine Pinot Noir is medium-bodied with a bright garnet colour. It offers aromas of violets, blueberries, cranberries, and well-integrated oak. Smooth texture with cherry, berry, and earthy tone flavours.
Food pairing: Enjoy with salmon, meaty fish, pork, or perhaps beef tenderloin.
